our last day in Nice

sunny 28 °C

We bought our tickets to Austria today but we think the guy sold us something wrong so we will change them tomorrow morning before we leave. He wants to send us back to Austria over Paris for 100 bucks...no way that is too expensive. We will change that to a train over Zurich...that is for sure less expensive.
Of course, we went again to the beach and got some more ice-cream. Yummy!!!! Monika bought herself a funny Nice shirt with sheeps where one black sheep shows you the not so nice finger.

On our way back we stopped at the grocery store to get food for our ride home. Some sandwiches and candy.
We packed our backpacks and Monika thinks hers got really heavy over the trip...mine seems to be same weight as in the beginning not much heavier. And we will spend tomorrow anyways on the train. Just when we switch trains we have to carry it...so that is okay then.
As we have to get up early tomorrow we need to go to bed now.
BONNE NUIT et AU REVOIR FRANCE!!!!!

On the beach...

sunny 31 °C

we are lying on the beach and it is reall hot...I'm melting. I have been already in the sea and will go a couple more times into it to cool down. Monika doesn't want to go in it because she thinks it is too cold.
...after a couple hours...wow we got tanned and also a little sunburned. Monika's face is really red!

Here in Nice are so many Austrian school classes...yeah September is time for the language weeks on the Côte d'Azur. I remember well mine in Cannes, that was fun too.
We got yummy ice-cream on our way back from the beach and a crepes with Nutella, finally. That is soo good. Nothing with loosing weight during the trip...the food is so good, you can't deny it.
The old part of the town Nice is sooo pretty.
Altstadt.jpgAltstadt_II.jpgWe walked around there and it was just great. It was a good idea to end the trip in Nice! Tomorrow we gotta buy our tickets back to Austria.

Trainride Paris-Nice

sunny 26 °C

The TGV to Nice was going sooo fast, oh my god. But it was really cool! I loved it!
Our hotel is okay and the weather down here is just a dream. Sun and hot! I can't wait to go to the beach.

We have a fridge in our room and so we can cool our water and store some food and snacks. Bathroom we have to share again but that is okay.
We have already taken a stroll through a part of the city. So many people and the main road is under construction right now and so it is really crazy on the streets. Dinner we got at KFC, yeah they got a KFC down here. It was really yummy but too much for my little tummy.

Breakfast for tomorrow we got already so we can have breakfast in our beds in the morning. Yummy!
Two relaxing days in Nice, perfect ending for our trip!

Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees

semi-overcast 23 °C

We walked along the Champs Elysees today...such a long street and what a traffic jam. One expensive store after another e.g. Louis Vuitton, Versace, etc. Not what we can afford. At the end of the street is the Arc the Triomphe which we climbed up...287 stairs...but really good view. We could see the Grand Arche, the Sacre Coeur and the Eiffel tower from there. Really cool! The weather was perfect too.

After that we wanted to eat a Crepes but we weren't able to find a single Crepes shop....nowhere on the Champs Elysees and we are in France!!! Instead we went to a French fast food restaurant called QUICK and we ordered our meals in French. Aren't we good, even the guy behind the check out said to us "Thank you for talking in French to us"- in French of course...we were very proud of ourselves.

On our way back to the hostel we sat down in front of the Invalides Palace and you know what I found there...the Austrian Embassy. It was good to see the Austrian flag...proud to be an Austrian!!!!!! VIVE L'AUTRICHE!!!!!

We also watched a guy parking his car today...well all European know that French people are famous for there parking. This guy was typicall he was driving a K4 and had a parking lot as big as a BMW 5 and really hit the front and back car as he pulled in the parking lot. Hello....so much space where you could fit his car twice, and he hit both cars. We are in France for sure.
Tickets to Nice we have booked too, we will arrive Wednesday around half past four in the evening. Yeah, beach sun and sea!!!!

Louvre...

semi-overcast 23 °C

We got up early again because we wanted to get to the Louvre before they open.
The Louvre is just amazing...so much to see. We spent there like 6 hours in there and didn't even see the half of it. But you just can't walk more, it's to hard and the building is sooo huge.
The first picture we went to was of course the Mona Lisa We stood first row and had a perfect view. As we were one of the first who entered the Louvre that day there weren't so many people in front of the picture. After that we decided to focus on the Egyptian, Greece and South American things like Sculptures, Sphinx, Statues, Mummies...Yeah I saw a real mummy Wow wow wow!!
Ich_und_Mo.._Louvre.jpg
After that we were very exhausted but we still went to Eiffel tower to take some pics by daylight. We hung out there for a while in the park in front of the Eiffel tower. It was sooo nice, the sky cleared up and it got really warm. Aahhh....great city! And our feet loved the time out...ha ha ha.
Eiffelturm.jpgEiffelturm_bei_Tag.jpg
On our way back to the hostel we got us a Quiche Lorraine, some typical French food. Yummy!!! And for dessert we ate a 500 ml M&M's ice-cream pot...too many calories but it was good! We also played some UNO and there we got to know LUCIA, a little girl (5 years) from Australia, who is staying at the hostel with her Mom and Grandma. She is soo funny! She always said now you have to win and then it's your(Monika's) turn to win...and the one who one had to put his thumb up. Her rules... that was it...not much more to say about that day.
